Marisa spent eleven years in Brisbane city salons before opening the Paddington shopfront, and she still cuts four days a week. She is the one who insisted every cut gets checked dry, after years of watching beautiful wet-combed shapes fall apart on the walk to the bus stop. She is the person to see for a cut you cannot get right at home, and she takes the correction consultations personally because she used to make the same mistakes.

- BH Bec Halloran Senior stylist and colourist · 12 years
Bec runs the colour side and takes most of the correction work that comes to us from elsewhere. She mixes at the chair rather than out the back so clients can see the shade going on, which started as a habit and turned into salon policy. Ask her about balayage placement and she will ask you three questions about your part before she answers.
Certificate III in Hairdressing, annual manufacturer colour accreditation - AD Anh Duong Stylist and smoothing specialist · 8 years
Anh does most of the humidity smoothing work and has the steadiest hands in the room, which matters on a four hour service. She is also the one who will tell you that your hair does not need it, which is not a great sales technique and is exactly why we put her in charge of it.

Jules keeps the diary honest, which in this trade is a craft of its own. She is the one who will tell you that the appointment you want is really a three hour appointment, and she would rather have that conversation on the phone than have you sitting in the chair at five to closing.
Certificate III in Business, current first aid certificate - KM Kai Morrissey Third year apprentice stylist · 3 years
Kai is in the third year of an apprenticeship and is already better at a blow-dry than most of us were at five years. Cuts with Kai are $105 and are supervised by whoever is on the floor, which is not a compromise so much as a very good deal on a Tuesday.
