Occasion hair fails for one of two reasons: it is built too tight and drops, or it is built too soft and slides. We pin to the shape of your head, use less product than you would expect, and test it by moving you around before you leave. For weddings we run a trial at least six weeks out, take photos from every angle and write the plan down so the morning itself is calm. Group bookings for a bridal party start at 7:00am on request.

$95 for a soft finish or half-up, $135 for a full upstyle, $185 for a bridal trial including photos and the written plan. Early starts before 8:00am and group bookings are quoted separately.

Step by step, in this order

Typical time: 45 to 75 minutes, 90 for a trial. You are told which step you are on.

  1. 01 Trial six weeks out with photos from every angle
  2. 02 Prep with a light hold base, no heavy product
  3. 03 Build the shape and pin to the head, not to a diagram
  4. 04 Move you around and re-set anything that shifts
  5. 05 Finish light and hand you two spare pins

Do I need a trial before a wedding?

For the bride, yes. For everyone else, no. The trial is where we find out how your hair behaves under pins, and it saves the morning going sideways.

How early can you start on the day?

From 7:00am for group bookings, at the salon. We do not travel to venues, which keeps the price down and the timing reliable.

Will it hold through an outdoor summer wedding?

That is what we build for. We will also send you home with two spare pins and a thirty second fix for the one bit that always moves.
