Consultation and humidity read
A short sit-down before anything happens, where we work out what your hair does in Brisbane rather than what it does in a salon chair.
Every new client starts here, and it costs nothing. We look at your hair dry, ask what it does at eight in the morning between your front door and the car, and ask how many minutes you are honestly willing to give it at home. Then we write a humidity read on your card: how it behaves damp, how it behaves after rain, and what it does in an air-conditioned office all afternoon. That reading is what the cut, the tone and any treatment get built around. If a service will not hold on your hair, this is where we say so, before you have paid for it.

02How it runs
Step by step, in this order
Typical time: 15 to 20 minutes, or 45 minutes for colour. You are told which step you are on.
- 01 Sit down with a stylist, hair dry and as it came in
- 02 Talk through the last three haircuts and what went wrong
- 03 Test how the hair behaves damp and how quickly it swells
- 04 Agree a plan, a price and a realistic appointment length
- 05 Book the patch test if any colour is involved
Do I have to book a consultation before my first appointment?
No, but for colour we would rather you did. A cut can be consulted at the start of the appointment. Colour needs a patch test at least 48 hours ahead, so a separate visit saves you a wasted booking.
Will you talk me out of things?
Sometimes. If your hair will not hold a smoothing treatment or a tone will drop out in three weeks, we will tell you at the consultation rather than after you have paid for it.
Can I bring photos?
Please do. Bring the ones that worked as well as the ones you want. Knowing what has already failed on your hair is more useful than knowing what you like.
