We cut to how your hair falls, not to how it combs flat at the basin. That means most of the shaping happens with the hair damp, then we dry it and go back in with the shears while it is moving, which is the only way to see where the weight is really sitting. Curl and wave get cut dry from the start. You leave with a shape that behaves the same way at home, and we show you the two-minute version of the finish before you go so you can actually reproduce it.

$105 to $175

Price is set by stylist level and length. A cut with our third-year apprentice is $105, a stylist cut is $125 to $145, and a senior stylist cut is $145 to $175. The wash, treatment and blow-dry are all inside that price.

Step by step, in this order

Typical time: 60 to 75 minutes. You are told which step you are on.

  2. 02 Wash, massage and condition at the basin
  3. 03 Shape damp, section by section
  4. 04 Dry off and re-check the weight in movement
  5. 05 Finish, then show you how to do it at home

Why do you cut some of it dry?

Because hair shrinks as it dries, and wave and curl shrink unevenly. Cutting the last of it dry is the only way to see where the shape actually lands.

Do you charge more for long or thick hair?

Not as a surcharge. Long or very dense hair is booked into a longer appointment, and the price reflects the time, which we tell you before you sit down.

What is a dry check?

After the blow-dry we go back over the shape with the hair moving, adjusting anything that is sitting heavy. It adds about ten minutes and it is included in every cut.

Do you cut curly hair?

Yes. Curl is cut dry from the start, curl by curl, and we book 90 minutes for it rather than 60.
